What is Sofwave treatment?
The advanced Sofwave skin rejuvenation system uses Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam (SUPERB™) technology to stimulate the body's natural production of new, healthy collagen fibers — which are essential for firm, supple, youthful skin but break down over time. By encouraging the accumulation of new collagen supplies beneath the skin's surface, Sofwave helps to improve the appearance of lines, wrinkles, loose skin, and other primarily age-related skin concerns, as well as those associated with sun damage.
Can you use Sofwave for the face?
Unlike many skin treatments that are reserved for the face alone, Sofwave skin tightening can help to smooth, firm, and tighten skin in multiple locations across the face and body. Some of the most popular treatment areas for Sofwave include:
- Face
- Neck
- Décolletage
- Arms
If you have concerns about loose skin, lines, wrinkles, or another imperfection elsewhere on the body, don't hesitate to ask our providers about whether Sofwave may be suitable for those concerns or if another one of our advanced skin rejuvenation systems may be more appropriate.
Does Sofwave hurt?
Another exciting benefit of Sofwave compared to other skin treatments is that it is generally much more tolerable from a discomfort perspective. In fact, most patients do not require any topical anesthesia or numbing for Sofwave, which is equipped with a built-in cooling system as well as an external Zimmer cooling device for maximum comfort.
Does Sofwave skin tightening cause side effects?
While some mild redness and swelling after Sofwave is normal, these side effects are usually minimal and should resolve within just a few days, if not sooner. In the majority of cases, patients do not need to take any time off of work or social activities after Sofwave treatment, though it is advisable to avoid sun exposure, warm baths/showers, hot tubs, and saunas for a few days after treatment.
How long does Sofwave last?
While results can vary from person to person, many patients are able to enjoy firmer, lifted, younger-looking skin for up to a year or longer after Sofwave treatment. Based on the nature and severity of your skin concerns and other individual factors, our team will help create an appropriate treatment schedule and discuss what kinds of results may be possible for you.
